Introducing: the new alphabands elastic bands

7. July 2016/4 Comments/in Product News /by Elmar Schumacher
By show of hands: who of you has at least one powerband and uses it more or less regularly in your workouts, e.g. as support for pull-ups? I am sure that if I was standing in front of all of you I would now be looking at a sea of hands just like Katy Perry during her last world tour. But resistance bands can do so much more. With our brand new alphabands we have just released a product that looks like a powerband but which uses the potential of this form of training far better.

Smaller is stronger

If you are looking for something to make your training easier then you better head elsewhere. Even though the blue, translucent alphabands are significantly smaller than common powerbands they are significantly stronger. In comparable resistances the contact area is smaller, thus, the alphabands won’t give you that comfortable support for pull-ups but that is not what we designed them to do anyways. If you are looking for a challenging resistance training, though, the alphabands are certainly right up your alley. We have consciously refrained from making an extralight resistance and instead upped the ante on the end of the spectrum: the band with the resistance ARGH creates 50 kg of resistance (at 100% stretching) and will certainly educe exactly that sound in your first training sessions.

Versatile strength training to go

The clever alphaband add-ons will expand your training tremendously – almost anywhere. The Anchor Anywhere add-on makes it possible. This add-on contains the well-known anchor sling of our aeroSling sling trainers including a door anchor. Thus, you can use every door, lamp post, tree or training frame to anchor your alphabands. A must-have for alphaband training! Another essential is either the Double Grip Handle and the 2x Grip Handle. The former is an extra-long handle that can be held with both hands at the same time. Perfect for (anti-)rotational exercises. The later includes two GRP handles that you might know from our aeroSling XPE. These handles are almost indestructible, easy to clean, and offer significantly more exercise variations and greater training comfort. Last but definitely not least, there is the Flex Handle that will give you no excuses to ever skip leg day again. The padded foot strap is the perfect fit for small and big feet alike and offers a great range of leg training movements where you need to fixate your feet or leg to the resistance band. Only with the add-ons will the alphabands unlock their full potential and offer you a versatile and effective full body training with a progressively increasing resistance. You can also use more than one alphaband together to adjust the resistance to your individual demands. Thus, you can train strength, explosiveness, and stability and slowly work your way towards that ARGH resistance.

High quality made in Germany

As mentioned before, the alphabands are smaller and thus more space-saving than powerbands. They are also anti-bacterial and non-allergic. This is good news for gym owners and allergy sufferes alike because powerbands are not only harder to clean, they can also cause allergic reactions because they are made of latex.

Now available

Starting now, the alphabands are available in five different resistances and as Set BASIC. Take a look at the different versions in our shop and find more information about the individual resistances. I am convinced that the alphabands will give new impulses to your training. I wish you lots of fun in your training! Benjamin of the aerobis Team

Count on it – revvll PRO rope trainer with Rep Counter

3. June 2016/4 Comments/in Product News /by Elmar Schumacher

Are you ready for a new challenge?

If you are a regular reader of our blog, you will have stumbled upon FIBO and read about our famous revvll Challenge. The FIBO visitors can put their fitness to the test and power themselves out in just one minute. The response is always extremely good and the visitors, even though they are very exhausted after one minute of revvll Challenge, always leave our booth with a smile in their face because it is such a fun way to test your performance. Is one revvll Challenge per year enough, though? From now on, you can have your own revvll Challenge every day and in every workout: the revvll PRO with integrated Rep Counter makes it possible! revvll PRO 2016 Rep Counter rope

Shop Special

To celebrate the introduction of the Rep Counter we are giving away a second carabiner for free for every end customer that orders a revvll PRO in our aerobis shop . The second carabiner gives you a steadier mounting during explosive movements. Just add the revvll PRO to your cart and the second carabiner is added automatically. Step up to the challenge!

Counting was never easier

We have already changed the production process: the revvll PRO comes with the 10 cm long and aerobis-blue rope section by default. The clearly visible blue rope section makes it very easy to count the rope cycles, independent of your own position towards the device and the individual exercise. Thus, you have a whole range of new challenges at your disposal that will test you and your training partners. Races, in which you have to reach a certain number of ropes cycles as fast as possible, are one way to challenge yourself. Another test could be completing as many rope cycles as possible in a given time. This way, you can better measure your training and make progressions visible. You can also use the competitive rivalry between trainees in a group training to push every individual to their respective limits. We like to use revvll Challenges ourselves, especially as a finisher at the end of a workout. The adjustable resistance lets every trainee choose the perfect setting for their challenge.

Looks easier than it is

‘Ok, so one part of the rope is blue, so what?’ If this was your first thought when looking at the picture above then rest assured: what looks so simple is everything but simple. In a sophisticated process, the blue section is integrated into the full rope made of PU. And even though this process raises the production cost, the revvll PRO naturally keeps its price. The Rep Counter is such an important part to the revvll PRO, making the rope training better measurable and more versatile, that it is now part of the standard features for every revvll PRO. The improvement just looks simpler than it is. Exactly like training with the revvll PRO looks easier than it actually is. The faces of the revvll Challenge at FIBO are proof of that:

Try these fitness challenges:

Challenges are a prominent part of the fitness world in social networks like Facebook or Instagram. People simply love to measure their fitness and compare it to others. CrossFit shows that making fitness measurable was one of the key aspects for its world-wide success. Without measurable values the global competitions wouldn’t have been possible. With the Rep Counter the revvll PRO makes an important step in its ongoing development, and so does your training. To get the challenges going we will give you four exercises and you can post your results in the comment section below. The time limit is one minute, you count the rope cycles you can complete in that time frame with the given resistance setting. Let’s go!

Four revvll PRO rope trainer exercises for your next challenge

      • Tug of war: the classic revvll exercise. Simply stand in front of the revvll and pull the rope towards your body center. Men use resistance level 6, women us level 4. Tug of war with the revvll rope trainer exercise instruction gif
      • Triceps press: This year’s FIBO Challenge. Stand with the back to the revvll and push the rope over your head in front of you. The core stays still and doesn’t rotate, the movement comes from your arms. Men use resistance level 4, women use level 3. revvll PRO rope trainer exercise triceps press instruction gif
      • Plank with downward pull: A coordinatively challenging exercise during which the core stays in the plank position. The hip doesn’t rotate and styas parallel to the floor while you pull the rope under your body. Men use resistance level 4, women use level 3. revvll PRO rope trainer exercise plank with downward pull instruction gif
      • Single-arm push: For a strong shoulder and chest: the single-arm push challenges your chest musculature in a special way because the movement starts when your arm is still behind your body. The shoulder has to work hard, making this exercise very challenging, thus we reduce the intensity a bit: men use resistance level 3, women use level 2. revvll PRO rope trainer exercise single-arm push instruction gif

What are you waiting for?

Rope training with the revvll PRO was already versatile and fun, although or because it can be so hard. The Rep Counter gives you the possibility to make your training measurable and more challenging. Give it a try because we are certain: you have never trained like this before! And don’t forget to post your challenge results in the comments below! Sportive greetings, Ben from the aerobis Team

The most effective rope training – the revvll PRO

2. May 2016/0 Comments/in Product News /by Fabien Mpouma

You have never trained like this before!

Ok, before I start I have to admit that the revvll PRO isn’t that brand new anymore. After all, we have spent the last two years perfecting and further developing it. However, at last FIBO we have, once again, realized that people don’t really comprehend the wealth of possibilities that our unique rope resistance trainer offers. Normally, people come to our stand and start pulling the rope. Sure, that is logically the first reaction and the revvll PRO is a great rope pulling device. Additionally, most people have the necessary strength to perform pulling movements easily. Following the motto ‘from the known to the unknown’, I often let them pull at first. This is already a great start to experiment with the resistance setting and vary the body position towards the revvll. Vary the body position? Yes, you’ve heard correctly! Even with a small change of position the trainee can create completely different training impulses. And here begins the enormous exercise variety that offers countless exercises depending on the mounting height of the revvll, the body position of the trainee, and different movement directions. But see for yourself in the video below! As you can see, the revvll PRO offers far more exercises than ‘just’ rope climbing or tug of war. It offers completely new training impulses under constantly high tension that will challenge you in a way that no functional training equipment has ever done before. If you need more exercise examples for the revvll PRO go over to our exercise videos and get inspired! And remember, get Functional! Your Fabien

More than just a skipping rope

26. February 2016/1 Comment/in Experts, Product News /by Fabien Mpouma

This rope can do more!

We have already shown you our new Battle Jump Rope which is available in diameters of 30mm, 35mm, and 40mm. ‘A thick skipping rope? Do you really need something like that?’ might be something some of you are asking themselves right now. Well, yes. For one, you can train your forearms, a part of the body which is often ‘under-trained’, and you can increase your grip strength, another aspect that will benefit your overall training hugely. Secondly, skipping rope with the big Blackthorn Battle Rope demands more body tension. Centrifugal forces try to move your body’s center of gravity and you have to counteract them with increased stability. blackthorn-battle-jump-rope-1080px

But there is more!

But the Battle Jump Rope is not just a thicker skipping rope – it can do a lot more! Just look at those exercises as an inspiration:

You can hang the rope from a pull-up bar or a beam and train pushing and pulling movements. You can also change your grip (pronated, supinated, neutral grip). You will quickly see that your big muscle groups suddenly are no longer the limiting factor when training this way with the Blackthorn Battle Jump Ropes. You need a very tight and strong grip, keep up body tension constantly, and you have to have a decent amount of coordinative competence. And it is really fun to challenge yourself in a new way.

Hey buddy!

Do you have a training partner that you regularly train with? Or are you a personal trainer that wants to push their clients to the limit? If you answer at least one of these questions with yes, then take a look at the video below to get some inspiration for a great Battle Jump Rope partner workout:

The training partner determines the resistance. Obviously, you should be able to pull the rope in a somewhat fluent motion. So don’t bug each other too much! What goes around, comes around… Do you have any additonal ideas in which ways the Battle Jump Rope can be used to workout other than just skipping rope? Let us know in the comments! And remember, get functional! Your Fabien

The blackPack ESY is available in three sizes S, M, and L

5. November 2014/1 Comment/in Product News /by Elmar Schumacher

Pick your size!

The blackPack ESY is now available in three different sizes! Thus, every athlete can find a sandbag in the perfect size. Here we will explain the differences and features of each size. Exercises like swings can be more comfortable with the new blackPack ESY sizes

If size does matter

A matter of weight

The sizes of the blackPack ESY sandbags inevitably has an effect on the maximum training weight that each blackPack ESY can carry. While the blackPack ESY L can hold up to 30 kg (66 lb), the blackPack ESY M can carry up to 20 kg (44 lb). And the blackPack ESY S is completely filled with 10 kg (22 lb). Depending on the application area you can choose the perfect blackPack. If you prefer training with smaller weights and place your focus more on speed and explosiveness then the smaller blackPack ESY S is the perfect fit for your training. Due to its size it is a great substitute for a kettlebell with adjustable weight. And the soft surface is a big plus for beginners. The blackPack ESY M offers the best compromise of size and handling. With 20 kg (44 lb) it offers a great challenge for most athletes. Its size allows for almost any exercise without without any limitations. And the blackPack ESY L with up to 30 kg (66 lb) of training weight is the greatest challenge of our blackPack ESY sandbags. To do every exercise with the full training weight you will need a decent amount of strength and experience. Additionally, the blackPack ESY L gives you the opportunity to use our Loading-Bag AQUA in order to train with water instead of sand. Thus, the blackPack ESY L offers the most challenging exercises of all of our blackPack ESY versions. Comparing the handle variations of the blackPack ESY

Get a grip – the handle variations

The already well-known flexibility of the blackPack ESY is guaranteed in every size. Whether it is the ESY S, ESY M, or the ESY L, the blackPack ESY has several handle variations that make for a versatile sandbag training. Each size has two parallel vertical handles, additionally each blackPack ESY has one handle plus a baton handle on each side. The baton handles are perfect for grip strength training but they also are the connection to our aeroSling ELITE suspended deflection pulley trainer. With this you can use the blackPack ESY as a counter weight with the aeroSling ELITE as a cable row and add a whole new dimension to your training. The only difference between the blackPack ESY S and M and the blackPack ESY L is the horizontal grip. The smaller versions have one horizontal handle perfect for swinging movements. The blackPack ESY L, however, has two horizontal handles. The horizontal parallel grip resembles the handling of a barbell and is your best choice especially with typical barbell exercises like cleans and snatches. Comparison of the blackPack ESY versions

The perfect blackPack ESY sandbag for you and your training

As you can see each size of the blackPack ESY has its special advantages that allow you to tailor your training to your needs. The already known advantages of the blackPack ESY stay the same in each size: individually choose your training weight with sand or a similar material, multiple handle variations make for a versatile training, connect the blackPack ESY to the aeroSling ELITE suspended deflection pulley trainer for even more possibilities, inline seams for a smooth surface, all seams are reinforced for increased durability, quickly change the Loading-Bags thanks to the wide opening running over the full width of the blackPack, a very strong zipper underneath the strong velcro line guarantees maximum safety, the hard-wearing textile can take on all training conditions, and so on… Everything you have to do is pick your size.
