Narrow rows – Strengthens the back after a long day of work Narrow rows are an exercise for the upper back muscles, right between the shoulder blades. Execution: Stand with feet hip-distance apart, the view directed towards the aeroSling. Now grasp the loops and slightly lift the tips of the toes. At the starting position, it is important that your arms remain fully straightened and your shoulders are down. Now the hands are drawn to the body by pulling the shoulder blades together and the elbows being guided backwards in an angled position. Tip: Hand, elbow and forearm form a line. Repeat this about 10-15 times. Deep Squats – As compensation to sitting for long periods of time on business trips Deep squats train the upper and lower thighs as well as the buttocks. Execution: Stand with your feet hip-wide apart and grab the loops of the aeroSling. Your arms remain long and straightened throughout the exercise. The shoulders hang loose. From this starting position you now bend your knees. The back remains straight. When your hips are below your knees, you press yourself back up into standing. The knees always remain slightly bend and are not fully straightened. Repeat the exercise about 10-15 times. Still gas in the tank? Simply repeat the whole set. With this simple set of exercises, you can keep yourself fit in the hotel room and burn off your energy. We hope your next business trip will be a success; from a business and workout point of view. Basic Information:Name: Carsten Wölffling Age: 28 City: Leipzig Where can your clients train with you? Preferably outdoors. In several premises, otherwise. Your motto: ‘Those who don’t have time for their health will later have to spend much of their time with sickness.’ (Sebastian Kneipp) Website or other profile page: functional basics
Introducing Carsten WölfflingTell us something about your professional qualifications and your own sports background! I have been moving since my early childhood: swimming, water ball, badminton. Through water ball I came into contact with strength training when I was 15. At that point, my passion for nutrition started as well. During the course of my studies of sports with emphasis on rehabilitation in the fields of orthopaedics internal medicine, I immediately wanted pratical experiences: I completed my first qualifications and advanced trainings in the areas of Functional Training, movement analysis (FMS, OS Coach), and nutrition. Since then, a few years have passed. Right now, I am working in the field of rehabilitation which inspires me to learn more about the human body, think holistically and naturally, and refrain from conventional training principles and symptom-first methods. Where does your focus lie in training? Holistic, cause-focussed thinking in the aereas of basic movement patterns and creativity. How did you learn about the equipment by aerobis? Following the motto of a sports scientist: testing, sweating, judging. I have tested different sling trainers over the years and a few months ago I had an aeroSling in my hands. First impression from training: wow! Great quality, easy handling, and versatile. Why did you do the aerobis Certified Instructor certification? I want to impart my knowledge and my experience in the area of med. functional training and share the same philosophy with aerobis. What characterizes you as a coach? Awareness, holistic thinking, and creativity. What are the most beautiful aspects of your job? Sweat pants, being able to go outside at any time, and having the pleasure to work with the most diverse people. Which aspect could you easily do without? Moronic thinking and training machines. Why is sport so important? Let’s rather say movement because sport is always about competition in some way. Humans are optimized for movement from a physological point of view. The problem: we steadily optimize our scope pf movement and our environment so that our own movements fall by the wayside. What time of day is the best time for training? Between 0.05 and 23.55. What is your favorite exercise and why? The squat and rowing. It feels good inside to sit down your body and rowing is a good counter measure to the monotonous sitting of everyday life because it straightens up your body. If you could give just one tip to every athlete in the world – what would it be? Awareness and a balanced gut feeling in the following areas: nutrition, movement, lifestyle.

IntroducingTell us something about your professional qualifications and your own sports background! Sport has been a constant in my life since I can remember. It started with football (soccer) and, at the same time, successful kick boxing for six years. In 2005 I met my new passion, triathlon, which ultimately replaced football and has been a part of my life ever since. I also like to try other sports to get to know them and have fun. My career choice was made during my time at the Bundeswehr and led to my first fitness trainer licence. From there it all went very quick, motivated and passionate I did my management assistant in sports and fitness (A licence), fitness expert, and, as is common in the fitness industry, several additional licences and qualifications that helped me specialize in my favorite field. Where does your focus lie in training? Definitely athletic and endurance training for runners & triathletes. How did you learn about the equipment by aerobis? The name aeroSling was mentioned four years ago in a discussion of my colleagues about which sling trainer is the best. A short time after that I went to the FIBO to see for myself and, lo and behold, I found out. Why did you do the aerobis Certified Instructor certification? First, out of curiosity, and then, out of conviction. 1. I think the products are awesome: ideal handling, a maximum of possible applications with countless exercise variations, convincing quality, and yet a very good cost-performance-ration. 2. It is a valuable experience for me to impart my know-how to others, exchange views, spend time with like-minded people, and just have seven hours of sports fun! What characterizes you as a coach? I am spontaneous, mostly unbelievably charming, inspiring, and a wild optimist! What are the most beautiful aspects of your job? Fresh air, much variety, loads of fun, happy clients, achieved goals, and I can decide who I want to work with. Which aspect could you easily do without? Writing invoices and collecting money. Why is sport so important? It creates a magical feeling, gives confidence, makes happy, sexy, and gives you a great quality of life ;) What time of day is the best time for training? That is highly individual! I personally prefer the evening hours. What is your favorite exercise and why? Jumps with the aeroSling and the big handle (Flex Handle XL) around the hip – makes your legs and butt go boom! If you could give just one tip to every athlete in the world – what would it be? Don’t think about it too much – JUST DO IT!
