The aeroSling ELITE Plus receives an absolute purchase recommendation from me. This recommendation is without restrictions. The recommendation also applies explicitly to all age and weight groups!
This virtual walk has been sent to us by our customer Core Strength Fitness in Switzerland and we think it is super nerdy cool. Take a few minutes and wander through their (training) halls. In a few spots you will find aerobis equipment. Directly at the start you will see the big verso360 wall installation to your left. The verso360 wall integrates in a very space efficient manner and is used as multi-functional training space. Further in the back there are two revvll PRO endless rope trainer installed on a cage (not from us). The revvlls can be used in parallel and enable all types of pulling and pushing movements with very high time under tension and variable load. Oooook, they have yet to see the light with our aeroSling dynamic sling trainers but I am confident that they will upgrade at some point ;-).
Satisfied customers are a figurehead for us. That’s why I thought I’d create the occasional post with customer feedback. We wouldn’t want to be the only ones knowing of it, when it’s interesting for you, too.
Dear aerobis team Here is some feedback from Ratingen Lintorf. We continue to be happy with your products and our customers gladly use our Functional Training Area including your equipment at every opportunity. Good job and thank you very much!aerobis designed and installed the outdoor area according to the customer’s requirements. The frame in use is the outdoor version of our verso360 system and can be used outside all year round. Here are a few words taken from a local newspaper: By installing an Outdoor Functional Training Area in front of their studio last year the health center showed courage to execute innovations and jumped on the bandwagon of a current trend. This modern ‘playground for fitness fans’ is unique both in Lintorf and its surrounding area. In dry weather, members of TuSfit now get the opportunity to use a range of high-quality equipment for functional training by first-class outfitter ‘aerobis’. In addition to the usual sling trainers, bags, and battle ropes the revvll PRO (an endless rope which allows pulling, pushing, and rotating in all directions) and Rowsticks provide an unforgettable and for those who like, even high-intensity functional training.
While exercising, members are being coached by the club’s staff that has been trained specifically for this purpose. ‘The “Gesundheitszentrum auf der Brandsheide 30” keeps up to date with this new offer to their members and establishes the Outdoor Functional Training Area as a fitness trend in Lintorf after JumpFit and deepWORK™‘, says Alexander Kraus, member of the board of directors. Starting in May, members of TuSfit will be able to use the Outdoor Functional Training Area for training in small groups or integrate exercises into their training schedules after instruction.
Every fitness enthusiast and every coach is dreaming of it: a gym with optimal conditions. And many even go on the hunt for the ‘holy grail’ of training. How about you? Have you found your perfect gym? Or have you even equipped it yourself with everything you ever wanted? This Tutorial Thursday is centered around the question whether there can actually be the perfect gym and gives you 5 keys for an awesome functional training gym! If you take a look at the fitness market you can’t help but notice the increasing presence of functional training into already established gyms and boxes of several fitness chains. In many gyms, machines are being sacrificed to make room for soc-alled freestlye, cross, or functional zones or areas. In those areas, the clients are supposed to train three dimensionally and work on an athletic body with small tools like med balls, sandbags, and sling trainers. You can also often find this as a gym-in-a-gym solution and the leading German fitness discounter has recently opened specialized local affiliates only for barbell or functional training. So the trend is already here for a while now. But are these chains only freeloading and trying to get their share of the growing functional fitness market? Or can they really deliver optimal conditions for an honest, real, and functional training? First of all, we have to establish what optimal conditions really are. Functional training describes a broad field of possibilities. What is functional for one could make no sense for another.
Point 1: you need free space! In the end, this leads to the fact that the perfect location has to offer as many options as possible. But this doesn’t mean that every inch of the training area should be occupied by loads of training equipment, training frames, and shelves. Quite to the contrary: space should remain space. For a holistic training on all levels and dimensions you need one thing the most, namely space. And if you want to accommodate different athletes from different sports with different training plans, exercises, and goals you should keep the training area as virginal and shapeable as possible. Here, you can use battle ropes, med balls, barbells, and even a sled. Don’t stuff your gym with big machines that train only one movement but let it be like clay in the hands of a child (that knows a little bit about functional training).
Point 2: you need a pull-up bar!Furthermore, you should definitely own a pull-up bar or a similar piece of equipment. For one, this should give you one place to hang your sling trainer, gym rings, or climbing rope. And then, of course, you can train pull-ups and pull-up variations. There is no functional training without pull-ups. There are pull-up bars that can be mounted to the wall or to the ceiling. Special rigs, racks, and frames are mostly bolted to the floor (or additionally to the wall). The advantage that these steel frames have is that they are also a barbell rack and can be expanded by dip bars and other tools.
Point 3: choose the right flooring! If you want to offer the aforementioned barbell training or use free weights in general your gym should have a special gym flooring. This can be made of rubber or other synthetic materials and consist of puzzle pieces, rolls or other interlockable pieces. Look for an easy to clean, grippy, and durable. You don’t want to have to change the flooring, it is supposed to last. The main criteria for choosing the right flooring should be the training. In a gym that has hundreds of people coming and train every day a hard, abrasion-proof flooring is your best choice. If you place great value on weightlifting and the barbells get dropped from time to time, the flooring should be a bit softer and thicker.
Point 4: use small equipment in open spaces!Looking at the training itself, it can be designed in different ways. Your own bodyweight complemented by small equipment form the base for a functional training gym. To have as many options as possible you should consider buying:
- sling trainers
- med balls
- battle ropes
- power bands/minibands
- Bosu balls
- plyo boxes
- prowler/weighted sleds
- Blackrolls/fascia tools
- coordination ladders
- a bench
- add more if you want something that the above tools can’t give you…
Point 5: have enough storage space!Your equipment should always be well-stored. Nothing is more annoying than stuff lying around in the training area. This is also a big security issue. When I do a 1 rep max back squat set I don’t want kettlebells lying around me. Especially bigger gyms suffer from this ‘never ending story’ of clients being strong enough to lift but too weak to put the weights back. A mostly open freestyle training area certainly has enormous potential to get messy. You can only prevent that with sufficient storage space and conscientious trainers.
A question of goalsYou might have realized that the perfect gym could look very differently depending on your goals. People that want to go the CrossFit path could be satisfied with a rack, a barbell, and only a small selection of other tools. Personal trainer, on the other hand, that come from a health sports background and want to train their clients holistically might need a broader range of equipment. The most important aspect for a functional training gym, however, is space. A functional training gym definitely needs open spaces and I would recommend rather going without some tools than giving up space. We have build many professional gyms and can help you to create your perfect training space. Get all the details and your custom quote here. Remember, get funtional! Your Fabien
aerobis accompanied BASE TRAINING during their opening of their functional training gym in the Hessian metropolisAs a partner of AMIGA womens fitness in Frankfurt we have already equipped their clubs with our aeroSling sling trainers two years ago. AMIGA has long been integrating functional training as a significant part of their master plan. At the end of 2014 AMIGA started a new project. BASE TRAINING was developed as a compact gym that focusses solely on functional training. aerobis has been involved from the start and helped develop a concept for the space planning. The goal was to design a highly-variable training zone that is suitable for group training as well as individual training. The gym should offer a big open space for athletic training or boxing training while at the same time including a big range of equipment for many constantly new and diversified training impulses. The requirement was to integrate a frame that is as diversified as possible while taking up as little space as possible. The frame should offer all the fundamental exercises like squats and pull-ups and work as the platform for various extensions with resistance bands, sling trainers, the new revvll PRO rope trainer, and other functional equipment. Additionally, BASE TRAINING wanted to include monkey bars that offered climbing and brachiating exercises.
Individual ceiling hand-over-hand ladder by verso360 – BASE Training in Frankfurt
The result is a unique playground for adultsIn the end, there was a free, multifunctional training ground that offers everything that aerobis stands for: a mix of innovative fitness equipment, like the aeroSling sling trainer that offers rotational and alternating movement patterns thanks to the unique pulley, the revvll PRO rope trainer for intense pulling and pushing exercises, and classics for free training like the ATX Soft Ball med balls or the alphaband Elastic Bands.
Here are some impressions:
What BASE TRAINING says about the cooperation with aerobis“aerobis products set new standards in functional training. Since we have already integrated the aeroSling ELITE in three of our AMIGA Clubs successfully two years ago, it was clear to us that we wanted to rely on and actively use the qualities of aerobis for BASE TRAINING – our brand-new functional training club. The reasons are obvious: aerobis offer high-quality flexible solutions for floor, wall, and ceiling. Variable products at fair prices, the whole product range from one source, and an outstanding service are what makes this cooperation so interesting and successful. BASE TRAINING thrives on the quality and competence of our coaches who are 100% convinced of aerobis, make the training for our customers fun with the help of aerobis products, inspire them, and infect them with the ‘functional fever’! BASE TRAINING joined the Functional Movement!“
Momma always says, ‘in the end, everything will be good’, and then she grabs the kettlebell. And she is absolutely right, in the end the brand-new aerobis showroom is more than good! We don’t want to show off but see for yourself. Maybe, you will also be training here in the future. As you may have already seen in the past few weeks, we have done a lot here. From first concepts, to measuring, to laying the floor, installing the verso360 training frames, and equipping the gym with a whole range of training gear, we have put on the thinking cap and used the good old brains and brawns. At the end, we have moved almost 3 tons of weight, drilled 90 holes, and used nearly 200 screws. But we did it with pride and passion. And the result speak for themselves.
Putting the pieces togetherFor the last step in our ‘Build your own gym’ series we had to do a lot of little tasks like drilling the Rope Mounts for our Blackthorn Battle Ropes into the concrete base at the end of our gym. Additionally, we had to install accessories for the verso360 frames like the verso360 Plate Loader, install the sound system and simply hang up the banner covering two walls. No wait! ‘Simply’ is not the right word here because that was certainly not an easy task. The first enormous banner is 20 m long and 4 m high and covers the biggest wall in the FuncMove GYM. We had to get the fork lift, put a box on the forks, lift that box (and the person and material in it), hang up the loops, get the steel rope, and thread the ropes through the loops one after the other. A drama with five acts and an encore. It was a delight and we were happy to do it again with the second banner for the second wall… In this step, we have also installed our 6 m long climbing ropes on the hall ceiling. You can see: we aim high!
What does the future hold? But why stay in the past when such a bright future lies ahead? In the FuncMove GYM, muscles will be trained, bodies optimized, and sweat will be running. And not only our sweat, too! It may be the sweat of numerous clients whose Personal Trainers have chosen the aerobis GYM as their residency for their daily work. Or that of workshop participants whose organizer was looking for the perfect location in Cologne. Because the aerobis GYM can be rented! This is what you will get: 120 sqm stuffed with high-quality functional training equipment, training frames with countless possibilities, a powerful sound system, changing rooms with showers, toilets – and everything with central heating. There are enough parking spots in front of the building. The aerobis GYM is located in the west of Cologne, the autobahn is right around the corner, and the suburban railway is just a few minutes away. You want to see it for yourself? Come over and pay us a visit. We love having guests (but we will probably be all out of cookies)! Now there is only one thing left: Get functional! Your Fabien
A few weeks ago we delivered the new verso360 Frame to Dr. Till Sukopp´s Primal Fitness Box. Primal Fitness Box stands for Functional Training with simple but effective devices as well as your own bodyweight. Till describes it as “Primal and fundamental fitness training”.
From delivery to training in only 6 steps1. Here you can see the verso360 Frame in it´s compact packaging placed on a common standard EURO palette. Easy and safe to ship – makes our customers smile. All verso360 Frames are shipped worldwide and are Made In Germany.
2. During build-up of the verso360 Frame you always build the so called bridge, consisting of a number of top elements, first. In the back you can see 2 of the 4 legs of the frame that are also assembled before putting the frame together.
3. The pre-assembled legs are the put into one side of the verso360 Frame and get connected to the bridge. Guide bushed on all legs make this a very simple and fast process.
4. After one side it safely connected it´s lifting time … aaaaaand uuuup on the other side. Even the installtion of the verso360 Frame has a sportive element to it…
5. Here you can see the same process as on the other side – doesn´t get much easier than this. Again the guide bushes on each leg make it easy to assemble the frame. This side is also safely connected to the frame.6. The finished verso360 Frame with 3 Top-Elements. Each verso360 Frame can be further stabilized by putting standard weight plates on each of the legs – this is useful for bigger group courses. Another happy customer.
Till nicely shows here that the outer pull-up bars are always accessible even when aeroSlings are suspended from the frame. Have a lot of fun with the verso360 Frame, Till! We can help you equip your own gym, box or personal training studio. Find more information about that here.
I have just trained with the revvll PRO for two weeks. The product is so versatile and I can train almost all major muscles of the body using different variations. The rope pulling training mechanism brings a lot of fun and new elements to my daily training program. Thanks a lot. Hope there will be more new training equipment to be invented by aerobis in the near future.
I received the new massage gun Mini today - it's really awesome! I have for a few years very good experience with the Hypervolt and was actually looking for a "little sister" to the big brother. A pistol that fits even better in the hand and is especially good in the neck and forearm area and that you can also quickly take with you. Then the smaller Hypervolt GO recently came on the market - and I was totally disappointed. For one thing, it's significantly louder than the Hypervolt PLUS and has an almost ridiculously low contact pressure. The motor stops almost immediately when you push a little harder. A real disappointment. At all, when you consider that costs over 200, - euros.
The more I was pleased that you have also brought out such a handy little gun. And what can I say: It exceeds my expectations! Significantly even. It has a decent contact pressure and the motor also does not fail if you press properly, i.e. you can go deep into the tissue. There are four useful attachments included, which I'm also used to from the Hypervolt. And also extremely important, it's whisper quiet - just like I'm used to with the Hypervolt PLUS. And it is extremely handy. A case would have been cool, but it's not that important. In any case, a good price-performance ratio overall. And it is also extremely classy in appearance.
This is a really ingenious little part! Great expansion of your product range.
